How Long Can I Expect My Eyelash Extensions To Last?

As long as you take good care of your lash extensions, they should last you for around 6 to 8 weeks after application. You can help them to last longer by using oil free eye products like cleansers and soaps! As they are glued to your own eyelashes, like any hair does, they do shed, so if you want them for a longer period of time, you might need to consider more frequent appointments.

Different Types of Lash Extensions

If you're new to the world of eyelash extensions, you might be feeling a little overwhelmed and unsure of what it is you're looking for, but don't worry as we're here to break down the different types for you:

  • Russian Eyelash Extensions - are ultra fine lashes, and as they're so thin, more than one can be applied to each of your lashes, giving a more volumised look.
  • Cluster Eyelash Extensions - are a group of individual lashes that are glued at one end, so you end up with quite a thick and wide base, as opposed to the thin and light look of the Russian lashes.
  • Individual Eyelash Extensions - are a group of lashes applied to your eyes, which you can usually do at home yourself.

How To Clean

You can also help your lash extensions to last longer by keeping them clean! It's important to use gentle and oil free products like facial cleansers, soap or baby shampoo to gently remove any dirt from them. Use an up and down movement and don't pull on the lashes as they are delicate and you could end up knocking them off.

How To Remove

It is completely safe for you to remove your eyelash extensions yourself at home or you can go back to have them removed by a professional if you'd prefer. At home, soak them in warm water to soften the glue and gently remove with tweezers or use coconut oil to loosen them. As like any hair, they will start to shed anyway, so you can also always wait for them to come out naturally!

Eyelash extensions are ideal for people who want prominent lashes for the majority of the time, and they come with plenty of other advantages too:

  • Gives the appearance that you're already wearing mascara
  • Saves you time doing your lashes
  • Pain free treatment
  • If well looked after, they can last a long time
