Chester Christmas Market

Chester is Cheshire's main Christmas market. You will find the market at Town Hall Square on Northgate Street opposite Chester Cathedral. Enjoy a festive walk around the traditional wooden chalets, and make sure you look out for the city's sparkling Christmas tree right in the centre! The market will feature lots of locally made produce and handmade crafts like jewellery, accessories and stocking fillers, so you'll be sure to find the perfect presents for your loved ones here this Christmas! In fact, over half of all stallholders are from Cheshire or from nearby in North Wales! Don't forget to sample some delicacies from Bubble Waffle and The Great British Cheese Co.

Christmas Events in Cheshire

Bolesworth

Bolesworth is completely transforming into a magical winter wonderland this Christmas! The whole family can enjoy a magical display of illuminating lights as you walk along by the lake surrounded by beautiful twinkling lights. The trail is just over a mile long, but routes vary if you'd prefer a longer or shorter walk, and everyone will get to meet a reindeer or two along the way! You will also find Santa's grotto here, where your child will be able to personally hand their Christmas list to Santa and have a photo with the man himself! If you're fancying a glide around the ice, then hop onto their ice rink, which is all weathers so whatever comes your way you'll be covered, literally! Or if skating isn't your thing, there's plenty of bars around in their Christmas Village as well as hog roasts and roasted chestnuts to snack on!

One Snowy Night: a Christmas Garden Tale

This interactive trail is also great festive fun for the whole family! Located at Tatton Park Gardens in Knutsford, the trail is based on Nick Butterworth's book 'One Snowy Night', where a park keeper helps his animal friends escape the dreaded cold on Christmas Eve. Make sure you're wrapped up nice and warm as you move around the trail helping to spot the keeper's friends. Each child will also receive a tasty treat from the keeper himself at the end of the experience.
