Reasons to visit Rochester this Christmas season
Christmas in Rochester feels truly magical especially with the market being on castle grounds! As well as their Christmas Market, they are also running a Dickens Christmas Festival, which will be held over 4th & 5th December with a Victorian theme taking over Rochester High Street between 10am and 5:30pm on both days. Parades will be happening on both days where you can spot familiar costumed characters from Dickensian novels, and dressing up is strongly encouraged!
What else is there to see in Rochester?
It's a great place for those that love history and culture, as there are iconic landmarks, such as Rochester Castle. The town was the inspiration and setting for many of Dickens novels and you can spot many shops, restaurants and even street names linked to the great man himself! If you can't get enough of the markets, they also hold a flea market and a farmer's market, and Rochester is home to the UK's largest second hand bookshop.
