The Manchester Christmas Market at its best
After a toned-down 2020 edition, this year Manchester sees the return of its grand Christmas market, one of the biggest and most popular in the UK. Piccadilly Gardens is set to turn into a real winter wonderland where you can explore some 300 beautifully decorated stalls in an enchanting atmosphere. Get on with the Christmas shopping, choosing among lovely handicrafts and little gifts, before the mouth-watering food and drinks stalls naturally attract you - they offer delicious hog roasts, bratwursts, mulled wine and hot chocolate! Manchester Christmas Market runs from November 12th up until December 22nd, visit for an unmissable Christmas experience in one of the UK's most buzzing cities.
Family-friendly fun at Winterfunland
Manchester really knows how to celebrate the festive season! Alongside the huge Christmas Market, the city will once again host the UK's largest indoor fairground, Winterfunland. The funfair is back at the BEC Arena from December 19th until January 2nd! Perfect for the whole family, Winterfunland is filled with rides, games and even a Christmas Circus. Of course plenty of food and drinks will be there for you to enjoy in between the crazy fun activities!
The Return of Skate Manchester
To make up for 2020's cancelled event, Skate Manchester decided to come back for 2021 earlier, better and bigger. Much bigger. The indoor real-ice ice rink, open since October 2021, is almost twice in size as in previous years and it will remain at the Cathedral Gardens up until January 3rd 2022. The rink's clear roof, adorned with an array of beautiful twinkling lights, protects from the cold weather while creating a magical atmosphere, perfect for couples, families, and groups looking for some festive fun.
Dunham's Spectacular Christmas Light Trail
If you're after a stunning light show this festive season, then you can't miss the Dunham Massey spectacular illuminated musical trail. Located just outside Manchester, in Dunham's fabulous park, the trail includes giant sparkling deer sculptures as well as achingly beautiful fire garden and rose garden installations. You'll definitely want to have your camera out for this one! Oh, and before your journey ends at the firepits - where by the way you can eat delicious marshmallows and sip hot coffee and mulled wine, you'll get to meet Santa himself along the trail! He'll keep a social distance this time, but don't worry, because there's a great Santa's Grotto in Manchester where you can meet him again. So read on!
