Birmingham Christmas Market

Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market is the largest German market in the UK and after a very different festive season in 2020, the fair is back for 2021! Although running with fewer stalls this year, the Christmas Market brought a lot more festive cheer and plenty of delicious food and drinks including hot gluhwein, schnitzel and spicy sausages. The 600 square metres waterproof ice rink - and the big wheel that landmarks it - have also returned, making the fair pretty visible and very entertaining. Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market runs until December 23rd, while Ice Skate Birmingham will be up until January 9th - don't miss your chance to have an enchanting time in the city and at great prices with our amazing deals!

Birmingham NEC Arena hosts Winterfunland

Together with the Christmas Market, Birmingham will also host the UK's largest indoor fairground, Winterfunland! After the success it had in Manchester, the funfair is coming to the 25,000 square foot Birmingham NEC Arena from December 9th until January 2nd. Winterfunland is perfect for the whole family - it's filled with rides, games and even a Christmas Circus! All rides and attractions are included in the entrance ticket (except for the grotto), and of course plenty of food and drinks will be there for you to enjoy in between the crazy fun activities.

Enchanted Gardens Light Trail

This festive season, take your family to 'The Enchanted Gardens', a 1.1 mile fairy tale light trail extending from the Riverside Gardens at Wychbold, just on the outskirts of Birmingham, into the woodland beyond. It's a magical experience that'll mesmerise you and your kids alike! The light trail covers four classic fairy tales - Thumbelina, The Gingerbread Man, Hansel and Gretel and Jack and The Beanstalk before taking you to the snowy north pole where you'll find elves and Santa himself in his house! Taking around 45-60 minutes to complete, the route will lead you to beautiful festoon-lit tipi tents where a great selection of food and drink will be available for you to warm up and fill your stomachs!

The Nutcracker at Birmingham Hippodrome

After being cancelled last year due to the pandemic, the Christmas classic is back at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Simon Callow as Drosselmeyer introduces the enchanting tale to the audience, as the show opens in a stunning design provided by set designer Dick Bird, and embellished with beautiful projections by award-winning 59 Productions. It's then time for Tchaikovsky's soaring score and the 60-strong Royal Ballet Sinfonia to take centre stage, with in front, of course, the Birmingham Royal Ballet's Company - together they all take Clara on the ultimate Christmas journey to the kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Shows are running until December 11th, so book your ticket and grab one of our incredible deals on stays in Birmingham!

Christmas at Warwick Castle

If you're in or around Birmingham this Christmas 2021, then you just can't miss this incredible experience on the city's outskirts. 'Christmas at Warwick Castle' is bringing its ice rink and light trail back, transforming the attraction into a beautiful winter wonderland. Gliding around on the ice with a stunning backdrop and exploring the mesmerising light trail with dancing light projections is just the beginning. Take on a magical journey through the castle, discover twinkling trees and decorations, and wonder at the 20-ft high Christmas tree in the Great Hall. Before you go out to climb the towers for stunning panoramic views, why not visit Santa and listen to his charming tales? His elves are there with him, of course!
