London Christmas Lights Bus Tour

This is a great way for your kids (and you) to see the magical Christmas lights of London! You get to cruise round on an open top vintage bus, which goes by all the tourist attractions and their twinkly lights! A great idea for a fun trip with kids as they can spot famous landmarks along the way.

Museums & Galleries in London

There are many museums and galleries in London that have festive events on for children! The National Gallery wants children to help by making some magical snowflakes that will go up on a shiny ice wall, and they'll even earn an honorary elf badge for taking part! Or take them to the London Transport Museum where they can take part in a winter trail by hunting down treasure, answering quiz questions and winning prizes. Or you can sit down for family story time about the underground train and the journey Santa and his elves have to make! For a real treat, take your kids to the British Museum where you can experience a festive Christmas sleepover!

Pantomimes in London

Pantomimes are not just great fun for children, but for the whole family too! They encourage your children to engage with the actors onstage as well as bringing festive joy and spirit to the whole audience! At Wowcher, we have some great deals on pantomimes for you, including tickets to Aladdin pantomime as well as a 3 or 4 star hotel stay in London! Take your kids to a whole new world this Christmas! We also have tickets to Cinderella pantomime if you'd rather have a night out at the ball!

Visiting Santa

What child doesn't want to meet Santa? Although he can be hard to track down, luckily we know exactly where you can find him in London! Your kids can meet the man himself in his Greenwich Grotto, where he'll even read them a story and give them a present! Whilst you're there, why not visit Greenwich's Christmas Market? Santa will also be visiting the London Transport Museum, and not only will your children get to meet him, but also help fix his sleigh! Or head over to Alexandra Palace's Grotto where your little ones can meet Santa, get a gift and have their photo taken with the man himself in his Grotto! Don't forget to book in advance!

Christmas in Covent Garden for Kids

As well as displaying their iconic Christmas Tree right in the heart of Covent Garden, they've gone above and beyond this year for decorating the area for kids to enjoy! Take a trip to Covent Garden and you'll find yourself in The Frozen Forest, where the whole area is decorated with Frozen decorations as well as flurries of snow hourly and even a rendition of 'Let It Go', your kids won't want to miss this! There's plenty more Frozen activity around Covent Garden, see if your kids can spot it! If Frozen isn't really your child's thing, then there's the Lego immersive adventure or also known as the 'Christmas Carousel of Creativity'. You and your kids can expect to see a rocket race car, a fighting dragon and even a cactus Christmas tree! Once you're done, head to the Lego Christmas Shop to get that Christmas Shopping done. The best part is both experiences are completely free, and you don't need to book beforehand!

Christmas Markets

Christmas Markets can also be great fun for children, and there are plenty in London to choose from! Drop by Selfridge's Christmas Market for some stalls on gifting, food and sip a hot chocolate while you watch your child ride the helter skelter! Or head over to Leicester Square and enjoy browsing the stalls as a family and sampling the festive delicacies! There's even a few stalls that do lucky dip presents for children!

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland really is a wonder for children (and adults!) There's so much they can do and get involved with, and plenty for adults to do too. They can perfect their ice-skating skills on the biggest outdoor ice-rink in London, take a ride on the giant wheel for the best views of London, visit Santa Land and meet the man himself, have a spin on a real ice slide or have a snack in the Bavarian Village! There's a whole range of activities to suit all ages!

Ice Skating Rinks

Ice-Skating is a great festive activity that you can do with your children! Whether they're happy skating around or need a little penguin friend to keep them steady, we know the best ice skating rinks in London this Christmas! One of the most well-known Christmas ice rinks is at the Natural History Museum, where sadly this is the last year they will have it, so get your skates on and make it one to remember! There's also an ice rink at Somerset House, one of the prettiest locations, where you can skate around their giant Christmas tree, and keep your kids nice and warm with a cup of hot chocolate! Or if you fancy taking your children a little further afield then Hampton Court Palace ice rink is the one, and you can make a day of it by checking out the palace at the same time!

Wembley Park's Winterfest

Winterfest is a free winter lights trail in Wembley Park, a great event for you and your kids to enjoy together! After a year's break, this year's theme is 'Reunited in Light' and will feature some classic favourite installations as well as some brand new ones your children can spot! There is also a 25ft LED Christmas Tree, which we're sure you'll have no trouble spotting as it's made up of more than 100,000 lights all in different colours! What's better is it's completely free! If you want to be there for the big switch-on, get yourselves over there on Thursday 25th November between 4:30pm & 7:30pm!
