Edinburgh's Christmas Market

Right in the heart of Edinburgh is where you'll find their special Christmas Market, which is hugely popular with locals and visitors so we'd recommend you head down there early if you want to avoid the crowds! With many stalls selling gifts from jewellery to personalised Christmas decorations, you're bound to find something for everyone here and get those items ticked off your Christmas shopping list! Royal Mile

Based in the Old Town part of Edinburgh, the Royal Mile is a known favourite area for finding gifts including specialised Scottish crafts and whisky, so if you know someone that would like a tipple this Christmas, this is the place for you! This shopping street is pretty unique as it only has shops along one side of the street, allowing the other side to show stunning views of Edinburgh's old town, have your cameras ready for this one! St James Quarter

Edinburgh's newest shopping experience, St James Quarter, only opened in June 2021, and has fast become a popular place to shop in Edinburgh. The new four storey shopping centre replaced the original St James Centre from 1960, and if you're after some fashionable gifts this Christmas, then this is where you need to go! Hit clothes stores such as & Other Stories, Bershka and Stradivarius to pick up clothing gifts for your loved ones or treat yourself. There's plans to develop the building further next year with a hotel, so next Christmas you'll be even closer to where you need to shop!

George Street

Known as the 'stylish street of Edinburgh' with many upmarket retail stores and luxury hotels. One of the most stunning streets in Edinburgh with amazing architecture, as you browse the shops here, you'll also find some of Edinburgh's notable buildings including The George and The Royal Society of Edinburgh. This is another shopping area for the fashion lovers or those of you looking to buy gifts for the fashion lovers where you'll find brands such as Hollister, Jack Wills and Gant. Livingston Designer Outlet

Although this one is technically not in Edinburgh, it's less than an hour's drive out of the city centre and with it being Scotland's largest designer outlet, we'd say it's worth it! They really have got something to suit every taste, so whoever you're looking to get a special gift for, rest assured you'll find it here. You'll find well-known fashion brands including Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger, at discounted prices. We wouldn't blame you if you wanted to treat yourself to a little something too!
