Natural History Museum Ice Rink
The Natural History Museum's ice rink has seen tourists and Londoners gliding around every Christmas for the past 16 years. It's now deservedly among the capital's most iconic locations for ice rinks! Set to be transformed into a hub for urban wildlife, this year will be its final year, so don't miss out on the charming feeling of skating in front of London's famous museum, surrounded by historic buildings and immersed in a magical atmosphere. Winter Wonderland Ice Rink
Winter Wonderland is back for 2021, and so is its ice rink - the biggest outdoor ice rink in the UK! A Victorian bandstand and a huge canopy of twinkly lights provide a rather unique and enchanting setting for ice skaters of all ages. When it's time to take the skates off, you can lose yourself in the best London Christmas market and enjoy seasonal food and warm drinks. Open from November 19th until January 3rd.
Alexandra Palace Ice Rink
The Ally Pally ice rink is open year-round and it's a real delight for ice skating lovers, but the Christmas atmosphere just gives it that extra special touch. It's indoors so you'll be protected from the elements while you enjoy gliding around and sipping your mulled wine. If you're thinking of a family day out, make sure to check out the Nutcracker on Ice show, coming to Alexandra Palace between 6th-12th December.
Somerset House Ice Rink
Fancy ice skating in a grand neoclassical courtyard? Somerset House ice rink offers two options with its Skate at Somerset House this year. Open from November 17th until January 16th.
Canary Wharf Ice Rink
Canary Wharf is much more than just a business district, and people have started realising it. The 1,200-square-metre outdoor covered rink in Canada Square Park surely helped, and it's back this year! So, if you want to glide around under sparkling lights and flanked by stunning skyscrapers, this ice rink is a must visit. After the session, why not head to the new Alpine-themed bar offering beautiful views of the rink and refreshment drinks? Open from October 23rd until February 26th.
Skylight Ice Rink
Since we're talking skyscrapers, let's talk rooftops. Skylight is Tobacco Dock's rooftop ice rink, offering stunning views of London's riverside and skyline. For off-the-ice activities, cosy igloos with heated covered tables are there for you to enjoy warm drinks, delicious cocktails and street food. Open from November 5th until January 16th.
Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink
The 500-year-old royal palace was one of King Henry VIII's most favoured residences, and we can't really blame him for that. If you want to spoil yourself, what better way than heading to the gorgeous borough of Richmond for an ice skating session in front of the palace's spectacular Tudor facade? After dark, the whole place lights up to create an enchanting and romantic atmosphere. Plenty of mulled wine and mince pies are available at the ice rink's bar! Open from November 13th until January 9th.
Queen's House Ice Rink
How can we guarantee you this ice rink is a beauty? Well, we hope the fact that it's in the surroundings of a Unesco World Heritage Site is enough for you. Head down to Greenwich if you fancy skating around like a royal, with stunning views of Greenwich Park, Canary Wharf, and of course Queen's House, one of the most important buildings in British architectural history. With on-site catering stalls and nearby cafes, you won't be left without winter wonders and warmers. Open from November 18th until January 9th.
