This incredible trip combines cultural, ecological and social experiences into one unforgettable two-wheeled adventure. You'll cover roughly 360km on bike through the stunning landscape of Southern India. Your 11-day itinerary will take you through ancient temples, tea plantations, tiger reserves and coastal backwaters, staying at eco-lodges, resorts and homestays on your way to the fishing hub of Kerala, where you’ll assist with a community project before heading home.
Day 1: Arrive at Kochi airport
You will be greeted and transferred to a heritage hotel at Fort Cochin by your guides.
Day 2: Cycle to Thattekkad
After breakfast you’ll cycle through a landscape filled with temples, spice gardens, paddy fields and rubber plantations towards the foothills of the Western Ghat, where you’ll stay at an eco-lodge on the banks of River Periyar.
Day 3: Cycle to Adimali
Take your two wheels through the forests of Neriyamangalam towards a beautiful cliff-side farmhouse, where you’ll stay for one night overlooking the Western Ghats.
Day 4: Cycle to Munnar
Cycle along winding roads through high altitude forests towards a family resort in the town of Munnar, where you can enjoy dramatic mountain peaks and tall redwood trees.
Day 5: Cycle to Suryanelli
Peddle through Grahamsland Tea Estate to the Anaerangal Camp at Suryanell. You’ll stay in luxury cottage tents, each with an en-suite bath.
Day 6: Cycle to Periyar
Bike around the ‘lake where elephants come down’ to the world famous Periyar Tiger Reserve, where you’ll meet a tribal community as well as Asiatic elephants and Indian bisons!
Day 7: Day in Periyar
You’ll have a break from your saddle to go boating, trekking and wildlife spotting!
Day 8: Cycle to Thodupuzha
Coast downhill to a homestay on the banks of the Kannadipuzha River, where you can walk around the spice gardens and visit the charming local village.
Day 9: Cycle to Kumarakom
Cycle through the rubber country of Palai to the gateway to the backwaters. Here you’ll recline on a rice boat as you pass through canals and floating markets.
Day 10: Cycle to Allepey
Back on the bike to a heritage villa in Allepey, where you can enjoy a local massage and visit the vibrant local markets.
Day 11: Clean Water Project in Kothad Village
Return to Fort Kochi to help install a clean water tank at a local home in the village.
Day 12: Goodbyes and Departure from Fort Kochi
