Why bother with tiresome airport procedures and soggy airline food when you can travel by boat? Amsterdam is the fun-filled cultural nest of the West and even better when you throw a cruise into the mix!
We’re offering you a 3-night Amsterdam mini cruise including an overnight hotel stay in city centre and transfers from just £109pp!
Departing from North Shields, Newcastle at 5pm, you’ll spend your first night aboard the DFDS cruise ship to Amsterdam where you’ll sail over the North Sea surrounded by bars, restaurants and plenty of live entertainment. Head to the 7 Seas Restaurant for an all-you-can-eat buffet or dine à la carte at Blue Riband Restaurant. After dinner, why not hit the shops or head to the Columbus Club for live music and drinks? If you’re travelling with a little one, there’s also a kids' club with a ball-pit, cartoons and a games room. When the evening has run its course you can retire to your cosy cabin complete with en-suite, bedding, towels, and two beds.
At 9.30am, you’ll arrive at Ijmuiden Port in Amsterdam where you’ll hop on a coach to the city centre for an overnight stay at your choice of hotel. Choose Artemis Amsterdam, easily reached by tram from the central station and famed for its dedication to modern style and comfort. Alternatively, opt for Park Plaza Vondelpark Hotel within walking distance of museums and Leidse Square. Both hotels feature comfortable en-suite twin and double rooms with TV and Wi-Fi.
With over 24 hours in Amsterdam, you’re sure to pack in plenty of fun-filled activities. Whether it’s the colourful tulips lining the winding canals or the cobbled streets bursting with cafes, shops and galleries, just wandering the city is an activity in itself. If you want to take in some of the city’s most famed attractions, head to Anne Frank's House for an insight into the foundations of Dutch history during World War II, while the city's seemingly neverending stream of canals make for the perfect cycling backdrop.
At 3pm, your coach will depart from Amsterdam Central Station and take you back to the port for your cruise home.
Arrive back in Newcastle.
