Think you've travelled to the four corners? Well, never mind your South-East Asian travels, European jaunts or American adventures - with today’s deal, we’ve got something we bet you haven’t ticked off your list…
We’re offering you a six-night escorted tour from Beijing to North Korea for just £569pp, saving you up to 24% off Lupine Travel’s prices.
Starting and ending in Beijing, this incredible six-night tour is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Check out what you’ll be getting up to:
Day 1: The tour begins in Beijing, where you’ll catch the 5:30pm sleeper train to Dandong. Relax on the train and check out the beautiful Chinese landscapes before getting some sleep!
Day 2: Arrive in Dandong and check into the Rui Xie Dan Tie Hotel. In the morning you’ll collect your visa from the Embassy, before you have the rest of the day to explore. Why not visit the Tiger Mountain, Great Wall or take a boat trip along the Yalu river?
Day 3: Meet at Dandong station and board the train into North Korea. You’ll cross the Yalu river on the Sino-Korea Friendship bridge over to Sinuiju, before transferring to a North Korean train to meet your experienced tour guides. Admire the stunning Korean countryside as you make your way to Pyongyang and enjoy a packed lunch of delicious, authentic Korean food. You’ll reach Pyongyang in time for dinner and head to the Yanggakdo Hotel, where you’ll spend your evening relaxing as you please.
Day 4: After breakfast you will take a full day tour of the capital, visiting the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, Grand People's Study House, Juche Tower, Monument to the Party Foundation and Kim Il Sung Square. There will also be the option to attend the circus before dinner. Afterwards you'll head to a local restaurant for a three-course Korean dinner, before heading back to the hotel to spend the evening at leisure - bowl, swim, play pool or relax in the bar.
If you choose to take the tour in October, day four will fall on 10th October, which is National Day - the DPRK Party Foundation day! You'll visit and climb aboard the captured USS spy ship 'Pueblo', listening to a talk about the capture of the ship by a North Korean soldier, before visiting the Korean War Museum. Afterwards you'll see Kim Il Sung square, the Grand People's Study House and visit the Youth Palace to watch students in training, before viewing a special performance by local children. Later in the day you can head out to attend the street celebrations, which will include a Mass Dance that you can watch or even join in with!
Day 5: After breakfast you’ll visit Mansudae Monument, before heading to Panmunjom in Kaesong - the 'truce village' which straddles the North-South Korean border - to visit the Armistice Hall. You’ll hear a talk on the history of the site, before heading to the Military Demarcation Line, the Koryo History Museum and Tomb of King Wang Gwon. After lunch you’ll return to Pyongyang to view the Tower of Juche Idea and take a trip on the North Korean Metro. You'll enjoy a traditional Korean meal before returning to the hotel for the evening.
Day 6: After breakfast you’ll return to the train station for your journey back to Sinuiju and out of North Korea, enjoying lunch on the train. You’ll arrive back in Dandong at 4:30pm, before taking the 6:30pm train to Beijing.
Day 7: You’ll arrive back in Beijing at 8:30am.
