Spread across the North Pennines and Teesdale's ochre hills, County Durham's star attraction is undoubtedly its undulating countryside and county town, Durham. Let us take you there with today's deal...
Today we’re offering you a one-night stay for two people, including breakfast, dinner, a bottle of wine and late checkout from £119, or upgrade to two nights including breakfast, dinner, a bottle of Prosecco, afternoon tea and late checkout from £199, saving you up to 41% off The Hotel Collection's prices.
Set in 150 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds, the Redworth Hall Hotel is an elegant 17th-century Jacobean manor house ideal for a relaxing country break or as a base for exploring the city of Durham and the countryside of the region. Set at the end of a tree-lined drive amongst manicured lawns, this architecturally important house dates back to 1693 and was the location of Civil war battles between the Royalists and Roundheads. There are even suits of armour guarding the lobby! On arrival, you'll check in to your elegant en-suite bedroom, furnished with luxury linens, TV, Wi Fi and a welcoming bottle of wine (or Prosecco if you stay for two nights). A three-course dinner in the AA Rosette-awarded 1744 Restaurant is included on the first night, plus full English breakfast in the morning. Stay for two nights and you'll enjoy a lavish afternoon tea, too.
Whilst staying here, you'll no doubt explore the hotel itself which still retains many original features, including the galleried Baronial Great Hall, ornate staircase and several grand stone fireplaces. The lounges are lavishly decorated, whilst the front terrace makes the perfect spot on which to enjoy an aperitif. The on-site spa offers facilities including a 14-metre swimming pool should you fancy a dip, whilst further afield, dazzling Durham and some of Britain’s most spectacular countryside in the Durham Dales can be found. Raby Castle, an example of medieval architecture, sits a 20-minute drive away. You'll never want to leave...
