Journey through rural Thailand to Battambang, where you'll have a few hours to explore the riverside city before retiring for the night.
Days 3: Battambang to Siem Reap
Get on two wheels with an optional motorcycle tour of Battambang’s rich countryside. Visit local industries, take a ride on the ancient bamboo train and marvel at many treasured temples. Those who opt out of the motorcycle tour can try their hand at Khmer cuisine with a traditional cooking class that includes lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll head off to Siem Reap.
Day 4: Siem Reap
Enjoy a guided tour of the seventh wonder of the world, Angkor Wat. Awake early to watch the sun rise over the magnificent temple and spend the rest of the day exploring its ancient ruins including Ta Prohm, the Tomb Raider temple, which is slowly being swallowed by jungle. In the evening you can opt for a taste of the high life with a Cambodian circus performance. Acrobatics, contortion, theatre, modern dance and more are moulded into one awe-inspiring show.
Day 5: Siem Reap
Dine with the locals or enjoy a traditional meal at New Hope Vocational Training Restaurant. Have most of the day free to spend at your leisure.
Day 6: Siem Reap to Kampong Cham
Travel to Cambodia’s third largest city, Kampong Cham. Here, you can traverse the 12th century bridge of Jayavarman VII and take in the 11th century Mahayana Buddhist shrine of Vat Nokor. In the evening, you’ll be treated to more tasty local cuisine.
Day 7: Kampong Cham to Kratie
In the morning you'll travel to Kratie, a small town based on the banks of the Mekong River. Spend the afternoon trying to sneak a peek at the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins from the comfort of a local boat.
Day 8: Kratie to Phnom Penh
Travel from Kratie to the busy streets of Phnom Penh for an up-close look at old colonial buildings and royal residencies. Hop off for a coffee break or soak up some culture at the National Museum.
Day 9: Phnom Penh
Take a guided tour of the notorious Tuol Sleng Prison and the infamous Killing Fields, the burial spot of over a million victims of the Khmer Rouge regime. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the city’s market, pagodas, temples and museums.
Day 10: Phnom Penh to Kampot
Drive along the coast to Kampot, home of Bokor National Park. Hop on a boat to the glowing waters of Rabbit Island or try some famous fresh crab in the small town of Kep. There are also opportunities to explore caves, cycle to a waterfall or enjoy a sunset cruise.
