Set on London’s South Bank, close to the Globe Theatre, is another of Elizabethan England’s most prized treasures, the Golden Hinde II. The ship belonged to Sir Francis Drake, the famous explorer and was his mode of transport as he voyaged across the globe in pursuit of glory and wealth. With today’s deal, you can enjoy either a self-guided or a guided tour around the decks of this famous galleon, with costumed actors helping to recreate what life was like for a 16th Century explorer. In small groups of up to 10 people, you’ll get to raise the anchor and fire the guns, becoming a salty sea dog for the day and stepping back into one of the most fascinating eras of Britain’s past. The Golden Hinde is open for tours seven days a week, 9am-5.30pm. *Pre-booking is required for guided tours. Please check the merchant’s website to view available dates and times of the guided tours. Pre-booking is not required for self-guided tours, however, please check website prior to visit as the galleon is occasionally closed for private events.
